Imaging in the terahertz domain has a very important application potential for material analysis.
The New Aquitaine region brings together in this field experts (research laboratories, industrialists) with strong interactions opening the door to the development of innovative diagnostics in various sectors: aeronautics, building, security, cultural heritage, etc.
The Laboratory Waves and Materials of Aquitaine (LOMA) conducts in this direction researches to analyze the fronts of waves of terahertz beams using pulsed laser beams at 1kHz.
R&D Vision has developed for this purpose a turnkey imaging system integrating a camera, an acquisition station, a control software and a real-time image processing at 1kHz.
The software developed around our HIRIS brick allows the user to generate automated test scenarios. Moving a motorized stage is synchronized with the image capture. At the output, the processed images are exploited by the LOMA to calculate the amplitude and the phase of the terahertz wave.
This system is open to evolutions to address various objectives and experimental needs.
