Did you say MISTIC?

Multispectral THz Imaging Sensor by THz to IR Conversion

The team at R&D Vision is delighted to announce the launch of the MISTIC project in collaboration with the French national aerospace research establishment, Onera. The French Ministry for the Armed Forces backs this project through the Defence Innovation Agency (Agence de l’innovation de défense - AID).

So, what’s behind MISTIC (Multispectral THz Imaging Sensor by THz to IR Conversion)? It consists developing a real-time multispectral terahertz imaging device that can be transported, runs on its own energy, is low-cost, and has been designed for civilian and military purposes. It can be used to detect explosives, for non-destructive testing (NDT), plant maturity, skin analysis and so on.

It has a clearly defined aim: the rapid industrial deployment of this technology.

This MISTIC project forms part of the RAPID scheme (Régime d’APpui à l’Innovation Duale - dual innovation support scheme) backed by the AID.
