The Institut Pascal, located in Clermont-Ferrand, embraces engineering and system sciences, including process engineering, mechanics, robotics, and physics for information sciences and health. This joint interdisciplinary research and training unit of 370 people (UMR 6602) is mainly focused on the factories (including ecosystems), transportation and hospitals of the future.
R&D Vision is delighted to assist several of the Institut Pascal’s research teams (ME, S2O and GePEB) in a variety of areas, the common thread being the need for a customised image acquisition system.
In all, four systems were created in a matter of months to address needs in the following areas: stereo digital image correlation (DIC), high-resolution and high-speed image acquisition, particle image velocimetry (PIV), and training for the École Universitaire de Physique et d’Ingénierie. When it comes to responding to the needs of researchers, the flexibility of the solutions proposed and the compatibility of our HIRIS software (and its associated modules) with many pieces of equipment are true assets.
With new opportunities and projects in the pipeline, R&D Vision and the Institut Pascal are embarking on a long-term partnership.
Benoit Blaysat - Institut Pascal - M3G Department - Experimental Mechanics Group: “R&D Vision listened attentively to our request for specific equipment and addressed it with care and a great level of professionalism. After many discussions, we obtained a piece of equipment that is just right for us right now.”
Christophe Vial - Institut Pascal – GePEB team: “I particularly value R&D Vision’s ability to develop open, scalable measuring systems dedicated to unconventional applications. Thanks to our partnership with R&D Vision, we developed a dedicated tool to study a bioreactor, and this partnership will help us to improve the tool in the near future to respond to ever more specific needs.”
